The digital marketing industry is vast with many different elements that make up a digital strategy. Aligning personal experience with internationally recognised qualifications can go a long way to equipping you with the right skills to add value to clients.
Our Co-Founder, Kamran Awan, recently sat down with Caroline from the Digital Marketing Institute, as part of their spotlight series that showcases their current alumni.
This interview is a great way to find out more about Kamran, from his journey as a finance professional right the way through to a successful business owner who empowers network members to launch their Digital Agencies with iOB Business. You also get a chance to hear Kamran’s view on the current digital marketing landscape and his thoughts on what the future holds for the industry.
The Digital Marketing Institute
For those of you that are unfamiliar with the Digital Marketing Institute, they are one of the worlds largest marketing professional bodies with over 120,000 members worldwide.
They offer a range of professionally recognised qualifications to help newcomers into the marketing industry as well as seasoned veterans acquire the right skills to be a digital marketing expert in 2021.
The syllabus has been compiled by experts in digital marketing and also in association with huge technology companies like Facebook, Twitter and IBM amongst many others.
Courses range from the Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing right the way through to a Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Marketing. Alongside these courses, there are shorter courses that focus on social media and the various specialisms within digital marketing.
The content is covered online through their learning platform with multiple interactive modules, case studies, quizzes and mock exams. The actual invigilated exam is held online through Pearson VUE in a professional capacity with a pass mark of over 60%.
The journey to professional accreditation does not end with the exam as members are then able to stay on top of key digital marketing principles through their continuous professional development. This is via regular podcasts, webinars and short courses that are available to members.
A few words from our Co-Founder
We spoke to Kamran about being featured with the Digital Marketing Institute and he stated,
“I’m excited to be featured on the latest episode of the DMI’s member showcase series. Juggling my commitments with iOB Business, navigating through the challenges of the pandemic and also successfully gaining accreditation with the Digital Marketing Institute is something that I’m really proud of.
The qualification reinforces a lot of the knowledge and concepts I essentially learnt through experience, but it’s nice to have an internationally recognised qualification to supplement that experience.
I believe it also highlights our commitment, as individuals but also holistically as a company, that we really believe in making sure our knowledge and expertise is at the cutting edge of digital marketing trends. This will only benefit our partner network as they can leverage our insights when growing their Digital Agencies with us.”
Summary
As you have seen in this week's blog, we wanted to do something a little different when compared to our usual business and marketing focused content. Hopefully, it gave you a better insight into our Co-Founder, Kamran Awan, as well as provide an overview about the Digital Marketing Industry.
There are other accreditation bodies when it comes to digital marketing, however, not many are at the level and prestige of the Digital Marketing Institute. In our opinion, while it’s not a prerequisite, focusing your attention on professional development will give you an advantage in any sector.
We shortcut the route to market for our partners when launching a Digital Agency and helping businesses improve their online presence. To find out more, please contact a member of our team.
Until next time, take care.
